From Frustration to Innovation
As a new teacher, I remember the overwhelming feeling of juggling lesson plans, observations, teacher-training admin and classroom management, all while trying to find quality resources for my students. I spent countless hours searching for worksheets, activities, and assessments, only to realise that many needed more clear guidance or suggested answers I desperately needed to streamline my planning.
There were already resources, PowerPoint, and lesson plans on the school systems, but none helped me learn and understand what I was teaching my students. I wasn’t alone in this struggle. Colleagues and fellow tutors shared the same frustrations, spending valuable time re-creating materials that could have been more effective if they had come with pre-annotated notes or model answers. That’s when I had a simple yet powerful idea: why not create a place where educators and tutors could find used and approved ready-to-use resources, complete with suggested answers and annotations, to make their lives easier?
Yes there was Tes, Twinkl, and LitDrive. But I wanted to see resources with some personality, that looked loved, not created Canva by AI. So, my journey from AM to PM tutors, shameless advertising of my tutoring company, and having a place where all my students could access my resources in one place.
